The first community I want to introduce is the one at Beijing Foreign Studies University

The first community I want to introduce is the one at Beijing Foreign Studies University, where I studied and worked before coming to HKU. There we held bi-weekly PhD seminars, where fresh PhD graduates and PhD students presented their work. Of course, I could not understand most of presentations at that time. I also attended PhD oral defenses, often working as secretary or the one holding bunches of flowers. This is my first step into the world of research students. Later, I was very lucky to have the chance to work with a group of researchers on a teacher education project titled \Theory and Practice \my PhD project at HKU. Equally important, I have realized the importance of dedication to work.
